Big Thanks to the Chronicle . . . !

Thanks to the SF Chronicle for some incredible coverage of the stadium plan and the issues surrounding it, and perspectives from everyone from Gavin Newsom to yours truly at www.savethe49ers.com.  The Chronicle is running five consecutive days of stories (beginning yesterday/Sunday July 12).  Will post links shortly, but here is the story today: Niners fans sound off about the move Tom FitzGerald, Chronicle Staff Writer Monday July 13, 2009.  You can go to www.sfgate.com and find the coverage in the meantime.

I'm super stoked to see more coverage on the stadium issue. There are a lot of ambiguous undertones being murmured by the Yorks. I'm really bummed out that the cats who are running the scene treat football and it's fans so lackadaisically. We need to help these power players understand that the 49ers success is dependent not only on the intial finanacial contributions by the city of Santa Clara, as opposed to SF's bid. The key variable here is the long time local fans. As taxpaying, voting, working people devote time and resources to the 49ers, thus snowballing a long term cash flow. The 49ers community is a thriving cultural force that has the power to maintain a field in San Francisco.
